Never have the undead been so motivating

HERE’S something that’s managed to successfully incorporate two of my favourite things: zombies and running. I saw a article in the Metro yesterday about a new app which will have you legging it around the park with a terrifyingly gory horde at your heels.

I think a Zombieland rule is quite apt, don't you?

The zomb-app is the brainchild of pals Alex Foster, 24, and Ben Gamble, 25, who were award cash to bring this idea to life by the government’s Start Up Loans scheme. Through this, the lads were handed £15,000 to kick-start the project, and through their hard work and setting up of an office in Camden, they have now won £200,000 from investors to help work on their prototype.

So what exactly is the app about? Well, it’s designed to work with Google Glass glasses, which launches later this year. Turn your local route into a zombie-infested run of your life, with real-but-not living dead chasing you; bound to earn you a new personal best. Alternatively if that’s a bit too imaginative for your 5am jog, perhaps use the app to run against virtual competitors, programmed to run at the pace you want so you can keep up.

Got an equally awesome idea you want to pursue? The Start Up Programme have announced a whopping £2.5 million available for London businesses this year. Get involved.

P.s. Cheeky plug here but if you love zombies as much as me, have a read of the start of my zombie novel. Yes, you read correctly… http://zombeas.wordpress.com
